you could download and install the Xpdf program for DOS...
http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/
I believe the DOS version is about 1.2MB or so.
You may or may not need additional components, but I believe they're listed
there.

Looks like the converter is slower than Christmas and does not do the
graphics -- it apparently only sucks the text out of the document.
