Interfacing to High Voltage - suggestions?

I need to flash a strobe from a disposable camera. I need suggestions for
parts/circuits that can handle the typical flash voltage.

Can someone help me?

Thanks,
Brian Gracia

It sounds like you need a simple flash slave trigger. You might try
    someplace like B&H photo:

    http://www02.bhphotovideo.com/default.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivat
    or__Aproductlist_html___38507___NOST___REG___CatID=1161___SID=F0B03460A30

If that link doesn't work search for:
    Novatron Slave trigger

    Mfr Catalog # 4030 * B&H Catalog # NOST

They are about $20.00 and will fire a remote strobe using the light from the
    disposable flash.

Nuts & Volts had a good article on those flash modules about 6 months or so
ago. At any rate, I would use the whole module including the battery -- its
    easier.

They have two sets of contacts to deal with. One set activates the circuit
that charges the high-voltage supply, and the other fires the trigger coil.
The charging part could use a regular relay, but the high-voltage part may
require something with a higher rating as its switching about 300-400 volts.
In any event the Stamp could trigger these relays, although I would try to
isolate the pins just in case the high voltage jumps from the contacts to
    the coil of the relay.
