Stamp software under emulation in Linux

Has anyone here actually succeeded in getting the programming software
(any version) working under Linux via some sort of emulation layer?
I've tried wine and dosemu (the latter with freedos) but have been
stymied so far. Because of its relative simplicity, the dosemu
solution seems to be the most promising, but in spite of extensive
configuration futzing, I haven't been able to get it to see my serial
port.
I'd love just to hear confirmation from somebody that it works for
them, so I can decide whether or not to keep trying!
Best Regards,
Jeremy

about using WINE.
