Hi,

You can get 1-2 MAX7219 LED drivers for FREE as samples directly from Dallas
Semi Conductor. Just call their sales dept from the web site at
http://www.maxim-ic.com/ and ask for free samples. It will take 5-10 working
days for them to come. Shipping is free!

I'll try to attached some working code and a jpg showing a BS2 with MAX7219
and a Panasonic 4 digit LED display.

Tom

I've tried to search, but LED is too common of a term.

Can anyone point me as to where to start with a 2 digit LED display? Its a
LN524YA the 8.8. display kind. Sorry to get so technical :) Do I want a
common cathode or common anode version?

I'm sure I could use up all of my stamp pins and get it to work, but that
    isn't a good solution :)

    A newbie at heart,

    John

    Hi,

I would use a pair of 74HC595, one chip per digit, works very well, is very
cheap (.65 cents ea) and only uses 3 lines of your stamp. This would require
Common cathode. Another choice is the Maxim7219 chip. It costs a lot of money
and imo is not as flexible, but it is a small one chip solution.

    Goodluck, hope this helps
