What is the difference between the 74ls165 and the 74hc165?
Whic one shoud I use for expanding switch inputs?
The stamp app note refers to the 74hc165, but I see alot of posts on
this user board of using the 74ls165. Also, I am looking at a
schematic that indicates to pull-up to 5vdc, the serial out pin of
the last 74hc165 in a chain. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Guy

chip.
HC = H = High speed? (Not sure), C = CMOS. LS and HC are pin for pin
compatiable, and both work on 5v.
