NMEA from Garmin to BS2

I am trying to connect a Garmin 12 to a BS2 via a 4N25 opto-
isolator. I can not seem to obtain a baud rate higher than 300. I
can send 9600 from a pc via the same setup. Has anyone connected a
Garmin GPS to a BS2? How did you do it?
Thanks for any ideas...

especially like to use our BS2p since it allows us to capture the entire
$GPRMC string to the scratchpad RAM. If you're concerned about RS-232 levels
into your Stamp, you can protect the Stamp SERIN pin with a 22K resistor.

I have used the Garmin GPS45XL with the Stamp no problem. You don't need
the opto isolator as the serial data from the GPS is already TTL level.
Just hook 'em up and you're good to go.
