SCR control
Archiver

Hi,
I was wondering about using an SCR circuit to drive a 2amp 0-90vdc motor. I
want to be able to vary the speed. I ofcourse want to use my stamp to control
the SCR. I am not really sure how to have the BS2 to do this. I looked on
google and the best hit was from the james russo archive which is not coming
up. I have made some motor controllers with mosfets. Now I want to look at
other options.
Any info or fingers pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.
thanks

setup is going to be alot more complex. With the SCR you're taking
an AC input and rectifying it to DC to control the motor. You get
into all sorts of nifty little problems like detecting the zero
voltage crossing of the AC line and at what angle to fire the SCR and
so forth. Take a look at the following website for some theory:

Good luck!
