Hi, I'm very new at this and was wondering how to setup an infrared transmitter
and receiver combo to detect objects. I have a BS2 and I need both circuit and
programming. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanxs,

---Steve

Get the lynxmotion IR proximity detector. It works very well!

I recommend the Devantech SRF04 range finder. it costs a bit more then the
Sharp GP series, but gives much better detection of small objects.
    Around $25

They have programming code for the devantech on the website, that works with
    the stamps

The easiest one to use and most inexpensive too, is the IR detector system
as depicted and explained in the www.parallaxinc.com website in the Robotics
Manual there. This uses a Panasonic type of IR detector and a IR LED to
    detect objects.
It is easy to hook up and easy to use, plus they have example code showing
    how to use it.
