dead pin

Hi
I have a BS II on a super carrier board. I plugged in a boe bot line
follower app. I find that the P2 is dead. How can i rewite the
software so that I can get it to work? I know that I will have to
rework the ribbon cable to change pin connection.

I get dead pins on my stamps every now and again too. Once a pin is dead, it's
dead for good right? I figure it must be an overload that causes the pin to
short out.

Drawing too much current from the pins can kill them, as well as static,
which is why you should always handle them in a static-safe manner. I dont
think Parallax stresses that enough in the manuals. They give an overview
of guidelines to follow when using the basic stamps and they tell you there
to be aware of static, but it's never mentioned again. Just my two cents...
