Hello,
About the interfase between the Stamp and a Sony Controller, I read
in a web site that the communication protocol of the Playstation Joypad is
the same as the Playstation MemoryCard!!!. Jon you were right, this proyect
will benefit a lot of Stamp Users, since the Memory Card capacity ranges
from 1MByte to 8MByte or more. Do you imagine a Basic Stamp logging
information and storying it on a 1MByte (or 8MByte) Memory Card! And the
Memory Card doesn't have a limitation of Erase/Write Cycles (1 million
erase/write cycles in a 24Cxx). Of course we need to investigate more about
the memory, but if we have the protocol working ok, it'll a easier job.
It's like having an I2C memory and a Compact Flash all in one. And it's
cheap, well here in Argentina it's cheap compared to a I2C serial memory, so
in the USA it must to be cheaper.
