measuring body temperature?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make a project that uses a stamp to measure skin temperature,
it's for a goofy "fortune teller" style thing, so it doesn't have to be
totally accurate, but I'd like to get as good a range of values as I can.
Anyone have any ideas on an elegant way to do this? Stick a digital
thermometer into an arm cuff? Search medical supply stores for some kind of
off the shelf solution?

thanks!

Try an LM34 with an ADC. Very accurate, very sensitive.

For this project we want to measure temperature, but since you offered ;) ,
I'm also interested in doing the GSR thing (which is how those "love meter"
things work, right). Do you have any info, webiste, circuit on doing GSR?

thanks!

Are you sure you want to measure temperature and not GSR? The latter is
harder to do with a Stamp, but I think it will give you more of the
"emotional" response [that triggers skin perspiration] that you're looking
for.

If you do want to measure temp, you could certainly secure a sensor (like an
LM34) with an elastic or Velcro cuff.

You might try measuring galvanic skin resistance with the RCTIME command.
The skin is the R and I would suggest using a very very small C. And make
sure your device is battery powered to prevent accidents.

Why not measure body ressistance? Shouldn't that be easier with just a
resister series?

Hi,
You got lots of suggestions on how to make your measurements. You also have
to make sure that the project is battery powered, or that you use a medically
approved AC mains type of DC power supply. Even just measuring skin
resistance, it is possible to give a lethal shock with a run of the mill
AC-CD power supply.

Good Luck,
