lems with StampDAQ

I've installed StampDAQ on two computers. On the computer that I have
Visual Basic installed, it loads fine. On the computer that I don't
have VB installed, I get a VB error when loading the Excel worksheet:
"Errors occurred during load". When I connect to my com port and
StampDAQ receives data, I get a VB error: "Compile Error: Sub or
function not defined."
Does this imply that I need to have VB installed in order to run
StampDAQ?
TIA,

Many apps today use VB so you probably already have it installed.
If not, you should be able to get the VB runtime from Microsoft without
too much trouble. Under your Windows directory (Windows, Win95, Win98,
Winnt, et cetera) you should have a directory named SYSTEM32 in that
directory there should be a file named MSVBVM60.DLL.
If it's there you can run it.

Nope, that didn't do it. Any other suggestions?

The installation SHOULD install all the required files, including the
runtime file mentioned, but there are apparently issues on some
machines I am trying to track down. It tested fine on the dozen
machines I tested with, including a 'clean' 98 box.
I am aware of the problem and working on finding the cause. Sorry
for the difficulties, give us a little more time.

This is a fairly clean 98 box. It's my server, and I use is only as a
server, and as a development box for microprocessor projects. I went
ahead and installed the VB runtime stuff I found on the MS web site,
and still no joy.

P.S. I now remember that the first time I installed StampDAQ that I
got an error message. I'm sorry I don't remember the error message now
but it was something about vben something something not being in a
certain directory. I uninstalled and reinstalled and never saw that
error message again, but maybe that has something to do with the
problem?

a 1997 office program. When I installed office 2000, the problem went away.

The Excel file was saved in a version for Office 98/2000, so if 97
was being used, I would have expected a version error.
Can anyone else confirm this appears to be consistant with a older
Excel version problem?
In the event this is not the cause, I am testing various installs
with someone currently to see what works. Sorry for the problems,
there's a large difference in versions out there and I'm not setup to
have clean machines of all the various configurations.

Does not work for me on my Win98se machine with Office97. Works fine
on my XP machine with OfficeXP.

I posted here yesterday regarding that. I have two computers I
installed StampDAQ on. One with 98se and XL97 which doesn't work, and
one with XP and XL2002 which works just fine. I moved my receiver
upstairs to my XP machine for this cook so I could watch temps. It has
worked fine for around 15 hours now.
