Intersil HIP4080

I am having a little trouble interfacing a Intersil
HIP4080 to a stamp. The spec sheet is a little
confusing about the in+, in- comparator function. One
of the schematics shows pin in+ tied to a fixed 6v but
later in the text it talks about a 1v nominal. I wrote
my code under the assumtion that if in+ > in-
then "true" and visa versa "false" Hen pin is pulled
high.
My application is a parallel mosfet h-Bridge to
control a 90 amp 12v winch motor. I will be using a
12v source. my mosfets are hrf3205.
Does anyone have any experience with these chips?

chip. Go to the intersil web site and check out
application note 9525. The app note is for a class d
amplifier solution but it should help you out. I'm not
sure why you are struggling with this chip... Your
doing the right thing just lay the board out and give
it a try. My other question is why are you using a
basic stamp with this? Are you trying to do something
fancy because in my opinion it could be done a lot
cheaper using logic gates and discrete components...
Good Luck!

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I am clueless when it comes to
designing electronic circuits, so I use the stamp as a crutch. My
application is simple. I need to use two poles of a potentiometric joystick
to control direction and speed of a 12v, 90amp max winch motor. I am using a
stamp to control another part of this project but it has its hands full
reading and acting on an adxl202. I would love to use discreet components
but my tunnel vision got in the way. I forgot there was a way to do things
without the stamp :)
I downloaded the app note you suggested for the evaluation board. I have
been reading AP9324.3.
Thanks,
Jeff
