TAB Robot Kit motors

Hi Charles,

I sent you an email about an hour ago - I guess you haven't see it yet.

If the motor can turn in one direction, it will be able to turn in the
other. It sounds like the motor driver somehow got burned out.

The motors themselves were specially wound for the application and while you
should be able to find replacements, it may be somewhat difficult. Note
that you will have to change both motors because you will have an unbalanced
situation where the two motors will be running at different speeds with
different torque outputs.

Check out my email and let's see what we can do to get you back on the road.

I bought a TAB robot kit about three weeks ago, and it has been working
perfectly. Yesterday, however, one of the motors decided to move in one
direction only. That is, it will go backward, but not forward. I checked
the voltages going to the motor, and they do indeed change polarity when the
direction is changed. I also checked that the wires and connector are okay.
Does anybody know what kind of motors are used in this kit? Can I buy them
at a local hobby shop or an online source?
I would like to use the identical motor, since I don't want to change the
    mounting and gearing.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Check to see that your tire is not rubbing the chassis of the bot.
My robot had this same problem until I added two small washers on
the axle between the tire and the axle holding bracket.

    Hope this helps,
    Joe
