Does anyone have a pointer towards a microprocessor autostart
controller for a emergency power unit. I want to implement it on a
onan 4kw gasoline unit. Can not find a affordable controller on the
market anywhere.

    Hi Spence:

I have actually done this with a collection of circuits based around the
Moeller Easy412 controller. E-mail me if you have any further questions or
    would like further information.

Hi guys, I am looking for info on the startup controller for an ONAN
emergency generator. The EXAR chips they used are not available in
quantities less that a couple of hundred. My employer has one that is
defective (the controller), and wants me to replace it with one of my
own design. Any idea where I can just get the information for the
module such as functional diagrams, timing, pinouts, etc. Since the
unit is still being made, ONAN will not provide me with anything. This
particular module is p/n 300-1188. It only has 6 connections, so if I
can find out what each is expecting or expected to do, it would be a
simple matter to replace the blasted thing.

This sounds like a real good application for a BS2, BASiC Stamp. Just a
little interface work and you may have a better controller than you
could buy. Contact me off list if you would like help with the design
    of such a circuit.
