Tim Bitson Basic Stamp Lightning Activity Monitor..... HELP !!
Archiver

I have a question about the circuit mentioned above in the subject
line. Tim's project consists of the LSU board and the Stamp Display
board. The schematic for the Stamp display board shows connections
to the 9VDC supply ( the battery) and also connections to +5VDC, but
I can find no reference on Tim's page
(http://homepage.mac.com/tbitson/weather/bslam/index.html)
about where he is getting this voltage. He is using a Basic Stamp 2
carrier board, and as far as I know, this board does NOT contain a
+5VDC source !!
Anyone have any answers?????
Thank you...

Vdd outputs a regulated 5 volts. Watch your current though, the stamp
regulator is limited.

is outputting the +5V from its voltage regulator. it looks as if this guy
has been using his setup for a while, and if he posted those schematics im
sure the stamp can handle it, just make sure you dont short out the +5V
from the basic stamp or you could blow the regulator, forcing you to solder
on a new one or buy a new stamp

After doing a LOT of searching, I located this page.
http://www.acroname.com/robotics/info/examples/srf04-1/srf04-1.html
It states that the onboard 5V regulator for the BS2 is limited to
50ma.
For what it's worth.....
