usb/serial adapter

Has anyone tried connecting a bs2 to a usb/serial adapter? I'm using a
Belkin usb/serial laptop adapter, Stamp Editor 1.32, get loopback "Yes"
and echo "Yes" but device type blank. No problems with bs2 when
connected to a desktop serial port.

Thanks,

Scott

Are your comm ports matching up? I bought this same one and it took some
    tinkering but I got it.

The stamp editor auto-detects the right comm port (if that's what you
    mean).

After I installed my drivers I think I went into the control panel and
looked to see what com port the thing had created. Then I manually changed
it to match. I'm not sure the auto detect works like it is suppose to
    through this adapter.

I have xp. Goto start, control panel, performance and maintanance, system,
hardware, device manager. From there you can view your comm ports and change
    any settings.
