I bought an BELKIN usb serial port for my HP laptop. The problem is
every time, I try to download from the laptop to the chip. I get
message " Basic detected but not responding, check your power supply"
I NEED HELP ! Does anyone knows how to fix it or know what is going on ?

I bought a BELKIN usb serial port and could not get it to work with the
Stamp, I returned it and bought a
KEYSPAN USA-19QW high speed serial adapter and have had no problems since.
Others have tried USB to serial
adapters with mixed results, you may need to try several different brands and
models to find one that will work
for you. I have used the KEYSPAN on two different desktop computers and one
laptop so far with no problems. I
also have a generic serial adapter that works on one of the desktops. Hope this
helps it took me about a week to
find the KEYSPAN after I bought the generic adapter, make sure you can return it
before you buy though. Some
companies have a store credit only policy or no refund policy, I try not to buy
from these places.
Have Fun !!
