Greetings!
I don't think you have any signals for that in the SCART connector, but have
you considered another 'low tech' approach, like using a solenoid to 'punch'
the buttons on the recorder?
(Can then be made to fit any new recorder when the old breaks)
But I'm afraid that you may have to look for another recorder.
Most commercial recorders will automatically STOP when it's been paused for
a few minutes.
Typically, a little too short pause for it to span looooong commercial
breaks...

Hi Folks,
I've got a home security project and I need your help. I want to make a
video recorder start and stop recording remotely. I've got a stamp which
collects info from various sources. I want to keep the unit on record all
the time but on pause. When the stamp identifies someing to record I want to
take the pause off. After a few seconds it will then turn the unit back to
pause.
I suppose I could make the stamp "learn" the pwm from an infra-red control
unit, but I prefer a wired connection. Is there something simple I can do
without buying a special recorder or breaking open my domestic recorder -
can I use the scart connections somehow?
Thanks
Tony
