x-10 question

Hi, I am trying my hands at X-10 in combination with the Basic Stamp (bs2e)
for the first time (as far as X-10 is concerned) and seem to have some
communication problems with the interface. I live in Europe, so the AC
power cycle is 50 Hz, and the X-10 modules I use have been bought here and
are intended to operate at 50 Hz. The set up I use for testing is Bs2e,
activity board, XM10E (Powerhouse) two way TTL/CMOS interface (basically
the same as TW-523, according to the limited technical references and
schematics) and LM12 Lamp Module. And...nothing happens (with the simple
test program from the stamp manual). It's the first time I encounter such a
radical problem with the stamp. So I wonder if it could have something to
do with the power cycle, that somehow the basic stamp is meant to function
with 60Hz X-10 appliances, this doesn't really make sense to me as all the
stamp does is sending data, the power configuration is an X-10 matter...or
am I missing something here?

the PL-513 and the TW-523. No mention of the XM10E.
There is also an Ap Note on the X10:

See pg 2 for a schematic on interfacing with the modules.

thanks for trying to help, but no, I have no Firecracker (I don't think you
can get it in Europe) and I do have the Stamp manual mentioning the PL513
and TW523, but it doesn't exclude other models, and according to the specs
the XM10 is just a follow up with similar configuration, and definitely
similar protocol. I guess I go on tring and I will bug the manufacturer
some more and in the end will have to address the thing directly.
