Is the NEX-1000 worth the price for a all purpose protyping station?
Are there other less expensive alternatives? I see basic X has one
that will work with some BS2's but it doesnt have the plug board
prototype are and appears to have a solder proto type area.

I have several types of boards, but I use the NEX-1000 the most because it
has a lot of build in features.
These features make it easier to see if an idea will work, before going to the
expense of buying a lot of parts.
I learned a lot from the examples in the stampworks manual also. I need to do
about 3-5 challenges and one
experiment still, but I think the NEX-1000 Full Kit is worth looking into.
Having Fun !!

I also have the INEX-1000 board and I use it
frequently. I'd say it's well worth the cost!
