LED TV Display?

HI Guys

Has any one messed arround with producing a very low resolution LED
Display with a Video signal injected into it, ie a TV picture
displayed on LEDs?

    The basic problem with that idea is getting White colour.

    When researchers were originally looking at designing the White LED,
    they tried combining Red, Green, and Blue LED's (just like the RGB
    pixels on a TV screen), but just couldn't get White colour.

    They eventually came up with white LED's by coating Blue LED's with
    white phosphere (like in flourescent lights).
