MS Mouse emulator

Hello all,

I am trying to emulate the left click of a mouse. I basically only want to get
Power Point slides to advance, when a pulse is detected on an I/O port (I got a
plate with button/led manufactured, and I am mounting that in a podium... 50'
away from the computer)

I am wondering if any of you have done this in the past. If you can give me the
handshake procedure between the mouse/PC, and the code to send for left click, I
can probably figure out the programming (although this will be my first
programming project)

(I have purchased a Stamp II)

Thanks in advance for any help.
Martin Menard

Not exactly what you want, but I have a power point clicker project at

Here is something that I did a few years ago. Go to the link below and select
"MicroSoft MOUSE emulator". There you will find schematics and code, etc...
    that should help you out.

I suggest that you simply use a hacked mouse near the PC with a shielded
cable connected one side to the mouse button and the other side to the
    podium button.
I did not try it for a 50' distance but it is worth a inexpensive test.
