8x8 Bi-Color Dot Matrix Display

I picked up a couple 8x8 dot matrix displays and decided to connect them to the
stamp. I thought about using on of the Maxim chips but I ran into a problem.
The displays are bi-color so they have the typical 8 columns but 16 rows (8 for
green and 8 for red), since the Maxim multiplexing ICs can only handle up to 8x8
displays it wouldn't work. I'm not sure how I would go about handling
multiplexing the displays, any suggestions?

Just a thought ..... I don't have the pinouts of the maximum chip in front
of me or know exactly which one you plan on using but if the chip has an
(enable-chip select) lead you could use 2 one for green leds and one for
red. Your program could enable the one you want .... OR again use 2 but
send the data to both by using a buffer IC.driver.
Good Luck
Eric
