hi,
will the motorola caller id chip work with a stamp?
all i want it to do is check the incoming phone number then send the
phone number to the stamp.
i want to do this without a PC, just the stamp and the caller id chip
http://e-www.motorola.com/brdata/PDFDB/docs/AN1733.pdf
any thoughts?

suggest Holtek HT9032...still in production $3US.The BS is too slow (i was
dissapointed...and switched to assembly on a PIC). You need a verfication
algorithm to check for noise every 7 clocks* in the case of HOltek's chip.*
consider that the cid sends serial data at 1200bps. You need to sample this at
16x1200...and check for noise when you get to clock 7 so that you sample the
middle of the bit.Switch to assembly and a good PIC...the PICS fly-1
instr/cycle...parallax is too slow Radu
