I need to connect my BS2 to any LCD that will display the result of
the sent command. I am using a lynx-10 board connected to a basic
stamp2 and an lcd. I dont have the lcd yet.
When i send an off command, i want my lcd to display off command
sent in works.
If anyone has experimented with this please let me and recommend any
lcd for me.

    Hi,

If you end up using an HD44780 based display, go to my site and copy the
circuit there for interfacing a BS2 to an Hitachi based LCD display. It
also has a programming example that displays the characters sent down the
serial port from a Mac or PC.

It shows how to make a BS2 (which doesn't have the LCDIN, LCDOUT, LCDCMD,
    commands) work with this display.

I could have used the display in 4 bit mode, but for various reason, stuck
    with 8 bit mode instead...

url is http://www.lennard.net.nz/electronics then click on the
Microcontroller section, and you'll see a link to the Hitachi LCD section.

Also, there are example with the Parallax documentation for connecting to
and controlling the Scott Edwards serial LCD's. I haven't played with these
yet, but again, it is fairly easy to "bit bash" a solution to make it work.

One "Bit bash" I will be doing is programming the BS2 to work with I2C
devices. Worked OK with another Micro that didn't support I2C natively.

Anyway, hope the LCD info helps,

    Ben, Wellington, New Zealand.
