stepper driver ULN5804

Anyone familiar with allegros 5804b stepper driver
[url=IC.http://www.allegromicro.com/sf/5804/index.htm]IC.http://www.allegromicro.com/sf/5804/index.htm[/url] I have been breadboarding with
it for sometime and I love it. Its only rated at 1.5amps and was wondering what
kind of transisters should I use to drive a 10 amp stepper at 36v. Also what
zeners for flyback control would work best.

Hi ,

You can use a darlington pair to improve the current rating or the best way
to switch is by a MOSFET. Have a look at IRF series (IRF540N)
For zeners look for Motorola/Gensemi/TVS.
