MAX 7219 Cascading problem

Have ment to give this knowledge for sometime.
Last year I had a problem with connecting 16 MAX7219 in a cascade.
Sometimes rubish would end up beyoned the 8th or 10th MAX.
I beleive several people on this group had the same problem.
Well I think I solved it.
I forgot the fundimentals of Logic control, (no more than 10 Logic
chips being driven from one chip).
Well this didn't seem to apply to the MAX, however after installing a
Buffer 74LS244, (this was only what I had to hand at the time), after
the 8th Max I had no more problems!!!

curiosity would other do the same, I've always woundered how world
wide an audiance this group attracts.
