BS1 DOS Programming Failure

Hello. I am trying to program the BS1 and am not able to program it
on any machine faster than a Pentium 90 running Windows 95. I have
tried to program the stamp with a P133(Windows NT), P300(Win2k), P300
(DOS6.22), P833(Win98), P833(DOS6.22), but didn't have any luck. Is
there a fix to the stamp.exe software. It doesn't seem to me that
software was written with multiple speed machines in mind. It
appears that the timing on the parallel port is too fast for the
stamp programming interface to understand. Thanks in advance.

hardware access limits.
I have a package I downloaded a while back that is supposed to let
you program BS1s via the serial port via a MAX232 circuit.

Works fine on my PIII 750 Dell laptop as well as my generic AMD K6-2 450
desktop and my AST PI 100 laptop. The issue may be with the parallel ports
and / or port settings on your other boxes.

with my pentium 186 running
Windoze 95. Can you send me the information on the program you downloaded?
Also what is a MAX232 circuit and
where can I get one?
