NEWBIE: Help needed with changer emulation project

I want to interface a mp3 player with a car head unit - the mp3
player speaks serial, the car on the other hand is a bit of a
mystery (Panasonic headunit and changer, I believe) my only clues
were gathered from a bloke who has done this using a EZ Protoboard
(see http://www.ajusd.org/~edward/ezproto/news.html for details) He
has sent me his development notes, which was great, but hasn't
helped much, yet anyway! The EZ Protoboard project is being ported
to a PIC16F84.
The bottom of http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~harn/mp3_cdc.htm
contains some hints on the panasonic protocol (again assuming they
are current/correct?)
Can I build this with the use of a stamp, is it within the
capabilities of the stamp? (forget about my capabilities, as there
aren't any yet!)
Thanks for the patience, I am not only new to stamps, but to this
group as well - please excuse my newbieness (is that a word?:)
