I'm confused.... I thought the LM3914 was one of the "ones that seem
to bee available everywhere".

...And shouldn't you be looking UP whilst driving any type of car?

    I am using bar graph type displays for a dashboard type system. I
    am looking for a bar graph type (meaning that it can be controlled
    by a standard lm3914) display other than the boring ones that seem
    to be available everywhere. It must be bright as it will be used in
    an off road race car. If anyone has done something "cool" please
    let me know.

    Thanks,
    J.

    What I meant was.. I wan't to use that chip to control the array of LED's in a
    fashion that it allows me. What I actually looking for is something other than
    the board mount boring led's that are found on every website and in every
    catalog... I simply mean't that I am looking for nice readable bargraphs, or an
    idea to display such a thing on a dashboard.... which every car has.. I have no
    problem looking at my dash to see how fast I am going or to look at my tach
    without worrying about crashing.. besides.. it is for a race/competition so the
    info it is display should help the driver by letting him efficiently shift the
    CVT(which you do not shift according to engine RPM).
