Hello all,
I am currently working on a stamp driven project that
has backed me into corner a bit:
1)
I need some liquid solenoid valves for a gravity fed
system, problem is I can't find the little buggers
anywhere for less than around $35-50+ per (grainger,
mcmaster-carr, jameco, american sci & surplus, etc.)
and I need 12-16 of them. Way too pricey. I am at
the point where I am just gonna build my own(I've got
a semi working prototype done at about $10), unless
someone knows of some surplus website I have not found
yet? Gotta be cheap ones somewhere!!!! I hope :)
2)
I've never used a RAM chip yet, but I know I have read
people talking about RAM chips before, anyone have any
preferences to a certain chip, or code fragments they
would like to share??
3)
Is anyone familiar with measureing volumes of a fluid
via its capacitance? I believe some rain guages work
that way???

Thanks in advance,
Ross Cooper

    FOR KLUTCH

Try your local lawn irrigation company. Their solenoids to control water are
    pretty cheap.

A simple method is to use a regular solenoid and have it press against or
unpress against a piece of surgical tubing. It pinches the tubing to cut off
    the flow.
Not a lot of maching to do for that.
You can also use a inexpensive gear crank motor (like the one Tamiya makes
or better), and have it pinch off a piece of rubber tubing as well.
A RC model airplane servo would also work too.
