    I think Digikey stocks them.. They are about ninety cents as I recall.

    I am trying to figure out, what electical componet, works like a relay,
    but has no moving parts. can anyone help me..

    I would call that a solid state relay.. An optical coupler might also
    work for small power applications.

    A solid state relay perhaps? :-)
    Seriously though, they are out there and easy to implement.
    Not only that, but you can switch them with 12v and control 240Vac on the
    relay contacts.

    Alternatively, if you aren't switching high voltages, a CMOS IC like the
    4066 Quad Bilateral Switch should do the trick.

    Also look at triacs/optotriacs, which will switch an AC source on changed
    logic states.

    Depending on what kind of current you want to switch (AC or DC), and
    with what kind of control current (AC or DC) and also how large a
    current you can use variety of solid state relays.
    See current Jameco catalog pp. 47-48. They have tons of them.
