Just in
Are you really using a transformer supplying 5 volts AC to operate your
stamp?

It sounds like your LEDs are drawing too much current from the Stamp and/or
power supply. You can either reduce the current to them (by increasing the
size of the current-limiting resistor for each) or -- if your LEDs really
need so much current -- is place a high current buffer (like the ULN2803)
between your Stamp and your LEDs.

How many LEDs are you trying to light at one time? Are there other
components drawing current from the same power-supply?

The problem i am having is with my new basic stamp. Not sure what is
happening.. But i am powering it with a transformer, of 5 volts, but when i

can anyone tell me what is going on with it... Does it have enough power
    or not???

Do you not have current-limiting resistors for each LED? If not, I'm
surprised anything ran at all. If you do, try changing the resistors to 1K
(brown-black-red). This will allow about 3.6 mA per LED for a total of 25.2
    mA (the BS2sx can sink/source 30 mA).

Connect your battery to Vin (pin 24 on the Stamp). At pin 23, you will get 5
vdc -- good for about 50 mA. Remeber, though, the BS2sx can only source or
sink a total of 30 mA from the pins.

From the Basic Stamp Manual, Page 11.
Un regulated power to Pin 24 Vin accepts 5.5 to 15 volts dc. 6-40 VDC on
BS2IC rev e. Pin 23 is VSS ground. If no power is applied to Pin 24 then Pin
21 VDD accepts between 4.5 to 5.5v regulated power only.
