I'm a basic stamp hobbyist who believes I may have a saleable product
for a small market. How do I transition from a breadboard to a
printed circuit that's packaged appropriately? Are there any books
that walk through the process?

Thanks!

I have a saleable service, which involves transitioning people's saleable
concepts and protos into saleable products. For a reaonable fee......
    But seriously......
You might start by getting yourself an electronic CAD package, perhaps Eagle
or Ivex WinDraft/WinBoard. Once you learn how to use it well you can input
your schematic and create board artwork. From this you'll get file output
that you can send to any commercial PCM fab house, most of which have
affordable prototyping deals for small quantities, which you can use as beta
units, etc. If your design proves to be solid, then all you have to do is
figure out how to assemble in quantity and sell it.

Or, you could also engage someone to get you there faster....seriously...

See <http://www.lvr.com/makpcbds.htm> or there are numerous (too numerous)
web sites giving directions on this topic.
