telephone interface question

i was wondering if you could use this voice player/recorder:

by interfacing it to a telephone line using a DAA such as this:

the picture is on page 3.
can those 2 components work well together? for example the DAA
picture on page 3 shows a stamp being interfaced with the phone line
to dial DTMFs, can i just put the voice player/recorder in where the
stamp was to play voice effects over the phone to the person
listening?
