Setting Tabs in BS Editor V1.3

I just downloaded and installed V1.3.
I went to EDIT-> PREFERENCES -> EDITOR APPEARANCE and tried to change
the TABS value but I can't seem to make any changes in this area. I
click on the 8 in the TABS block but I don't get focus on this field.
Nothing happens if I click on the drop down selection arrow either.
Is the ability to change the TAB value not enabled or am I doing
something wrong?
