I have a samsung lcd module 40x2 with backlight.
I turn on the backlight led and I saw that the the
backlight is demanding 1.025 Amp.
I would like to know if its normal? and if its ok how
can I reduce the demanding.
Thank you very much

on. I had to run it through a 4001 diode to get the voltage down, Would the
resistor help with the current. The regulator gets a little hot if you
leave it on too long.

AAAAAAYYYYYYYY. Turn it off! You must use a current limiting resistor in
series or you could damage the backlight.

I echo Mark's comments, a diode helped a bit. As for my regulator, it's
great for boiling an egg... and still hanging in there..
