BS2 OEM newbie help

Hi all,

This might be asked at least 1000 times in the past, but I couldn't
find any reference.

I have built BS2 OEM with PIC16C57-XT/P and all the parts as per BOM.
The soldering has been checked over and over.... However, in Basic
Stamp editor 1.3 under Identify says LoopBack OK and Echo OK. But the
STamp can not be found.

The setup is as follwing: Win2000 pro, Serial cable male-female
connected at Com1 and BS2, VDD confirmed at 4.99V.

What am I missing? Any input more than welcome.

Thanks
John

Try setting the RX FIFO for your comm port to its lowest setting or off. I had
    to do this
but I don't think I was getting the Echo test to pass.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Being a newbie is hard and emba... I'll stop
here. My problem was that I used all parts from the market, and the
PIC is not loaded with Parallax software....

    Thanks
    John
