question on the Basic stamp

the basic stamp 1 uses the paralel port. the basic stamp II uses the serial
port.

serial. The manual shows how to hook it up. The problem is how to
connect the cable to the breadboard. You can use pins on the ends of the
cable wires or wire up a connector but you can't just plug a D connector
into a breadboard.
We make a nice adapter that is sturdier than just using wires and
includes a 9V clip that will plug into a breadboard also.

the wedge, i got about 3 years ago, but i have not books or anything, and
can't even find where i got it from... So i think I will got with Parallax,
but i don't want to buy a borad from them, just the chip, I want to make
the rest myself...
