Hi people
Another question from a beginner :
Is there any IC easy to find in the market, able of being assembled between
MAX232 and BS2p in order to hold a few characters (buffer) so it can keep
data while SERIN line is not executed ?
I have been surfing the net but the only one i have found that matches all
the above is RSB509B but I am not in the US and they don´t sell it
electronically.
Best regards
Rui Alexandre

There are not so many chips, and if there are, they are hard to get.
Al Williams has written a serial input buffer program (SSIB) for SX in
http://www.parallaxinc.com/downloads/SXTech/IO%20Control%20with%20the%20SX.P
DF
This specific program allows for 2 buffered input channels, but can easily
be modified
to hold more input channels or larger buffers. And what to think of input
filters, because
the Stamp serin timeout does not function when data comes in until the serin
datalist is satisfied.
If you do not own a SX programmer or want to buy one, try contacting Al
Williams.
If he hasn't already got a service for SX I am sure you can work something
out.
Or perhaps someone else near your residence.
Regards peter
