could anyone point me to some information on how to control proportional
valves (used to control air pressure) with my basic stamp II. maybe some
instructions and code around.

With the amount of detail you've given, all I can say is that you might
download the Parallax tutorial on PID control with Stamps - it should be
adaptable to a pressure application to work as well as with the temperature
    ap it describes.

    Hi Rens,

there is some simple steps you might need to take to get a stable
    control.

    measure pressure
    do your proportional control calculations
decide if you need to increase or decrease your pressure
    activate your valves.

it's pretty simple on the surface.

you didn't mention accuracy or pressure ranges.
or the type of valves you are using.
