wireless RS232

Hi folks,

I got a question you might be able to help me with:

I got a wireless rs232 device that would be a big help for me because I
often have to programm stamps from a distance.

The device works fine, it transmitts data from the stamp to my pc (when I
use the serout command) and the debug also works fine.
Only when I try to download a program into the stamp the stamp will not be
found. The pop-up tells me to check the loopback connection.

So I connected pin 6 and 7, on the pc side as well as on the stamp side, but
still it doesnot work.

A) Does anyone know how the program verifies if a stamp is connected?

B) Does the download use a different protocol than the debug?

C) I know there is a parallax product for this purpose but it is much more
expensive that the device I have and it seems you cannot connect many
recievers to one transmitter which you can with the device at question.

Thanks a lot lot lot for your help, Uli

In order for "true drop in serial" the wireless device has to be "full
duplex" like Ewave's Super Screamers. So far they are the only ones I have
tried that will do what you want.

Documentation is also available from the above link. I've used these for
    wireless programming
with the Stamp, and a wireless boot-loader for the PIC, and they work quite
    well.
