Using a ADC0834

I am using a ADC0834 for my 4 channel ADC. I picked it because I have used the
0831 and it was handy locally. What I like about it, is only uses one BS input.
But I need a little assistance.
How are the different channels selected. I know it uses a MUX line to pick the
channels, but I am not sure on how this should be sent to the ADC to pick the
channel needed.
Maybe someone can explain this to me. a snippet of code would be nice too!
