DS1302 Alarm

Since this list is talking a lot about the 1302 chip, I thought I'd ask a
related question. Does this chip or any other chip have an alarm function?
I'm making an intervalomter for my digital camera that might have a wait period
of days or even weeks (putting it in a cabin in the woods, unattended, running
on batteries). I'd like to find a low power clock chip that brings a pin high
when an alarm sounds. That way, I could put the stamp to sleep and reset it
from the alarm pin.
An alternative i've thought of is to have a loop that puts the stamp to sleep
for, say one second, check the time, and return to sleep if it isn't time to
take a picture. The alarm wakeup would require less power and seems to me to
be a less ellegant solution.
Does anyone think the alarm pin idea is possible?
