Connectors on PC boards

For the first time, I am moving a circuit from a Board of Education waffleboard
to a small PC board. I need some
connectors to feed power to the board, and for theinput and output of pulse
trains.

At Radio Shack, I have found various components and a universal PC board,
but no selection of connectors. Is there some standard type of light plastic
connector that can be mounted on the
PC board? Some two lines, some three or four lines? I ran a search on the net
and surface something like 9
hundred thousand connectors -- but what I am wondering is, what do you guys
prefer to use?

Thank you for your help. Michael

Take a look at this link:
    http://www.al-williams.com/awce/som.htm
It shows the use of one of the most common low voltage power plugs.

    For Cliff

Try Radio Shack. They have some nice screw type connectors that have pins
for soldering to your PC board.
