Can I use a 24LC16B eeprom with a BS2?

hello,
I have see examples of using a 24LC08B with a stamp, but can I use the above
(24LC16B) and extra 8K with the BS2?

    You can store data externally, though you'll have to develop code to store
    and retrieve it (there are several samples available on the web). You cannot
    expand the BS2 program space using external memory.
