Hi,
Has anyone in the group tried out the site player from Net Media?
www.siteplayer.com <http://www.siteplayer.com/> It looks pretty cool,
just thought I'd ask before shelling out the money for a developer kit.
Thanks,
Rich

I am in the process of figuring out how to have another MCU control a
digital camera, to take snapshots, and then convert the raw image data into
a gif, jpg, or something , in order to send to the siteplayer web site. All
this without using a PC, windows, linux, or RTOS, or PC104 based SBC.
Basically, you can put up a website, and via the website, have the
siteplayer control things remotely. For example, at a Hotel you could
monitor all the icemaking machines on all the floors. It's main purpose was
to provide a webserver where you could remote control things.
This particular model is limited on the amount of storage memory for the web
site, so you need to keep it simple. But if you have use for something like
that, it beats the heck out of a PC being used for that purpose. It's a lot
easier to put in batterybackup, 4 AA nicad batteries should run it for quite
a while.
regards,
Earl

give for the Basicx-24 then you better get on the right lists to get
help from current users because you won't get help from Net Media I once
owned a BX24 and won't buy from them again.

uses. it is much more complicated and has alot of features on it like 8
Analog-to-digital and Digital-to-analog ports on it and runs much faster
that the basicstamp. it is not for beginners. I would put it up with the
oopic chip.

I agree. The BX24 is an ill-conceived product with poor
documentation. If you plan to use it, make sure you know
its limitations first hand or you're in for a long,
time-wasting experience. Their support by direct email is
bad to non-existent. They never answered my direct emails
at all.
