Hi,
Does anyone have experience interfacing a UART (I'm using the
MAX3100) to a Basic Stamp? In my application, I am using the UART to
transmit/receive data from other BS modules via two-way walkie
talkies.
Thanks
bryan

works with a 3110. I think the 3100 is very similar.

Via Walkie Talkie sounds a really inventive idea! Will you be publishing
more details when you get it finished?

Here is another app note on the MAX3100 with Stamp code using shiftin/shiftout:
http://www.emesys.com/BS2IrDA.htm
It focuses on the IrDA capabilities of the MAX3100, but a simple
change in the configuration register makes it a hardwired.

I am assisting a part-time professor at Stanford for a Spacecraft
Design course in which this will be used. Students will build a
satellite inside the envelope of a soda can (Project CanSat). Each
satellite will have a unique data acquisition circuit along with the
Basic Stamp. These satellites will be dropped out of an airplane and
will communicate with a "base station" located on the ground.
I will follow up with a URL for any who are interested.
Cheers and happy new year!
