CdS Photocells

I had built a project built on CdS photocells. Now when I am building a
number of others, I find that CdS photocells essentially don't exist. I
thought this was a pretty common, basic electronics building block - I
mean, you can buy them at radio shack. But I find that digikey and mouser,
at least, don't carry them at all.
What's up here? I'm highly confused.
